About 800 pupils from 37 schools were in attendance in this major inter-school campus journalism activity. The DLA attributes this excellent performance of the Gazette staffers to the weeklong summer writing workshop held last May with PCU school paper adviser Teacher Rosalina Bawar and former PCU teacher Ms. Nanette Barzaga as trainors assisted by Teacher Jingle Ancheta.
- Buwan ng Wika celebrated. This year’s celebration of Buwan ng Wika featured extemporaneous Speech involving Gr. 4-6 on current events during the culminating program held on Aug. 31, 2012 at the SCCD Multi-Purpose Hall. The said contest was introduced last 2010 to expose the DLA pupils on the kind of inter-school competitions for future participation. Group games were also conducted in the morning of August 30 at the school grounds which include tumbang preso, patintero and sungka as reinforcement of the theme, “Tatag ng Wikang Pilipino, Lakas ng Pagka-Pilipino.” Chairing this special event was Teacher Jocelyn Vedia.
