Growing in Christ

Key Scripture: “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper: (Psalm 1:3)

Prayer: Thank you Lord for showing me that growth is part of all life. It is necessary for survival and health. I want to grow in you, to become all that you have planned for me to be.

Help me to remember that my conversion experience was only the beginning of my new life with you. Father, you are helping me to grow in the Lord Jesus.

Thank You that in the inward man, I am being renewed day by day – that you are perfecting the things that concern me – that I am being renewed in knowledge after the image of my Creator.

Your wonderful work continues in my life and I always want to follow you. Thank you for nurturing me and leading me each step of the way.

Laying aside all malice, guile, hypocrisy, envy and evil speaking, I desire the pure milk of the Word of God that I might grow thereby. I want to grow in you, Lord. Feed me from your word – the Bread of Life. You are building your Church upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets. You, Lord Jesus, are the chief cornerstone; in whom all the building fitly framed together grows unto a holy temple. Thank you for letting me be one of your “living stones”, and for letting me grow within your body.

Grant that I will not be childish, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, but speaking the truth in love. I want to grow up into you in all things. Forgive me for the times when I have been childish and have been so easily influenced by others. Forgive me for the times when I know I should have spoken the truth in love, but failed to do so.

When I was child, I spoke as a child, I understand as a child, I thought as a child; but now that I am an adult, I must put away all childish things from my life, and to replace them with godly things that reflect and produce spiritual maturity.

You are helping me, Father, to grow in grace, and in the knowledge of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory! Amen.

As I behold your glory, Lord, you changem e into your image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit. Thank you for Christian growth that develops qualities within me that will help my life to conform to your image. It is exciting to realize that this is your goal for my life.

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
