Hilite of 86th Anniversary Celebration – July 2012

Anniversary Prayer Service held on the Wednesday of the Anniversary Week, July 25,2012.  Rev. Calipay Lubang, Administrative Pastor of UCCP Paranaque, shared an inspiring  message admonishing believers to Usher in humbleness, following the servant girl in the story of Naaman who showed her way to service regardless of her status in the society.

That girl who was not named in the scripture showed a magnificent message for us today as we reflect on being healers of this broken world. The servant girl who was a captive was able to sent healing to a skin diseased man, her purity in heart and love to God served as anointing prayer for the those in need. As God’s messenger she invoked members to welcome change  and contribute peace to the world of chaos, corruption and neglect. The speaker challenges the church to become faithful to God’s word, manifest God’s love to the world by doing mission. The Service was filled with music and praise to the Lord, prayers and thanksgiving words were mentioned by corresponding members and chairperson of Boards and CRO’s glorifying the mighty work of God in their respective realm of ministry and service to the Lord.

A Historical Sketch View called FAITHBOOK. Through the kind leadership of the Archiving and Communications Committee, a historical sketch that was opened to all is somewhat creative and mind boggling. Old pictures, stories of humble beginnings and memorabilia were open for viewing, but participants were encouraged to play game and answer questions through the creativity of our young people  through the leadership of Mischelle Quezon and Jhia Tabing. Members of the archiving committee are composed of Anjell Samonte, Ramon Reyes, Rose Calungin, Natalia Cantada and the Pastoral Team.

PRAISING GOD through CRO Presentations. Church Recognized Organizations (CRO) presented their respective expression of faith drawing from our Anniversary message,”Becoming Healers to this Broken World”.  The DLA Students, Coop, CWA and UCM presented a special song for the Church. CYF’ers lifted their hands of praise and worship to the Lord as they offered a very inspiring dance and song. The CYAF presented a real life struggle of today’s society, advancing the message of hope and prayer that through us, may the anointing of hope and change happen. There were lots of  surprises and showcase of talents as SCCD daughter churches came to celebrate with us. Some gave special numbers and warm the fellowship through their testimony. Anniversary afternoon fellowship was led by Mischelle Quezon and Anjell Samonte as  Hosts/Emcees.

Church Anniversary Bayanihan Spirit Enlivens SCCD. Anniversary celebration is never the same without the hands of every member of the Body of Christ doing the preparations and clean up drive. This year’s Bayanihan was led by the Anniversary Committee.  The women and men were attending to the cleaning of the church sanctuary, CYAF and CYF in the church grounds clearing the garden, young people adorning the church ground with colorful flags reflecting the joyful occasion of God’s goodness. Sumptuous lunch prepared by the Tess Candelaria was served to our children and adult volunteers. The CWA prepared lugaw, vegetable fritters and also led the food dissemination. Afternoon fellowship program was headed by the energetic CYF.

SCCD CWA distributes ECO BAGS for Anniversary. This year’s anniversary souvenirs were sewed by the CWA members namely: Caring Sanchez, Taleng Cantada, Susan Mabattung and Raquel Ramos. This were to declare the Church’s support and stand for earth care. Those heart shaped bags speak of how we participate in the awareness program of the Church towards caring for the environment. Members of the Christian Women’s Association  adopted the idea from a gift that was given to our Pastor of which supports the same. We are therefore encouraged to use them and walk the talk for earth care.
