Personal Prayer 2

Adoration

O Lord, You reign; You are clothed with majesty;
You are robed with majesty and are armed with strength.
Indeed, the world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.
Your throne is established from of old;
You are from everlasting.
Your testimonies stand firm.
Holiness adorns Your house,
O Lord, forever. (Psalm 93:1,2,5).
My soul blesses You, O Lord my God,
You are very great;
You are clothed with splendor and majesty. (Psalm 104:1)

Pause to express your thoughts of praise and worship.

Confession

If I claim to be without sin, I deceive myself and the truth is not in me. If I confess my sins, You are faithful and just and will forgive me my sins and purify me from all unrighteousness. If I claim I have not sinned, I make You out to be a liar and Your word is not in me. (1 John 1:8-10)

Ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

Renewal

Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
May Your good Spirit lead me on level ground, (Psalm 143:10)
May I listen to counsel and accept instruction,
That I may be wise in my latter days. (Proverbs 19:20)

Pause to add your own prayers for personal renewal.

Petition

May I be strong and courageous; may I not be afraid or discouraged because of my adversaries; there is a greater power with me than with them, for You, Lord my God, are with me to help me. (2 Chronicles 32:7,8)

Pause here to petition God for spiritual insight so that you might have understanding of His word. Ask for insight into your identity in Jesus Christ:  that you might know who you are, what direction your life should take and what His purpose for you life is. Offer prayers regarding your activities for this day and any special concerns you may have.

Intercession

I was called to freedom, but may I not use my freedom to indulge the flesh; but through love let me serve others. For the whole law is summed up in these words: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  (Galatians 5:13,14)

Take a few moments to intercede on behalf of other believers such as your personal friends, those in the ministry an those ho are oppressed and in need

Affirmation

Oh God, who will bring a charge against those whom You have chosen? You are the One who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ Jesus who died, who was furthermore raised to life, who is at Your right hand and is also interceding for me. (Romans 8:33,34)

An hour is coming, Father, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of Your Son, and those who hear will live. For as You have life in Yourself, so You have granted the Son to have life in Himself, and You have given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.

Pause to reflect on these Biblical affirmations.

Thanksgiving

You are close to the brokenhearted, Lord,
And save those who are crushed in spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But You deliver the righteous out of them all. (Psalm 34; 18, 19)
You are my refuge and strength, O God,
Therefore I will not fear, though
An ever present help in trouble,
Therefore I will not fear, though the earth changes
And the mountains slip into the heart of the sea. (Psalm 6: 1, 2)

Pause to offer your own expressions of thanksgiving.

Closing Prayer

You, O Lord, are with me. I will not fear.
What can people do to me?
It is better to take refuge in You, Lord,
Than to trust in people.
It is better to take refuge in You than to trust in princes. (Psalm 118: 6, 8, 9)
I lift up my eyes to the hills-
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from You, O Lord,
The One who made heaven and earth.
You will not allow my foot to slip.
You, the one who watches over me, will not slumber.
You are my keeper;You are my shade at my right hand.
The sun will not harm me by day,
Nor the moon by night. (Psalm 121:1-3, 5-6)
