Walking in Obedience

Key Thought: “Obedience means marching right on whether we feel like it or not” (Dwight L. Moody)

Key Scripture: “Behold, I set  before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known” (Deut 11:26-28).

Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me to obey all your commandments.  It is true that obeying your voice is far better than any sacrifice because rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft in your sight, Lord,, and stubbornness is an iniquity and idolatry. May I never be found guilty of those sins?

Please forgive me, Father, for each time when I have rebelled against you. I repent of allo my acts of disobedience and for my failure to do what you have commanded. Henceforth, I want to obey you in everything.

Thank you for opening my ears to discipline. Lord, you have commanded me to turn from iniquity and have promised that if I will obey and serve you, I will spend my days in prosperity and my years  in pleasures, and it will be well with me.

Help me to see that obeying you lead to so many good things. You have promised to give the Holy Spirit to all who obey you, Lord.  Please fill me with the Spirit as I walk in obedience to you. I want to obey you with joy, out of the sense of delight that follows whenever I do your will.

Thank you for all the promises of your Word, Lord, which will come to pass in my life as I learn to obey you. You have promised outr that if I love you I will obey you. I do love you, Lord, and I want ot obey you from my heart. Even the winds and sea obey you, Lord. I know it is my responsibility to obey you rather than men.

I know it is faith that enables me to do so. Help me, Lord, to be like Abraham, who obeyed in faith, nothing wavering, and went out not knowing where he was going but believing in you to lead him.  Through obedience and faith I enter your glorious rest.

Thank you for your promise, Lord, that as I express my love for you and obey your commandments and keep your words. I am loved by you and the Father and you both will love me and come to me and make your home with me.

Thank you for leading me into a life of obedience.
