Your Appearance

Father, I thank You for making me and for giving me life. Your word says that You created me in Your likeness and in Your image. I thank You that you created me good. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret and intricately and curiously wrought as if embroidered with various colors. I know that Jesus came so that I could enjoy life its fullest.

I speak your words of life to myself. I will spend time developing a quiet and meek spirit. I will know that my outward appearance is also important to You for You care about every area of my life. You give me the desires of my heart when I delight myself in You and commit my ways to You. I desire to feel good about myself so that I will be and present myself well.

Help me to learn to take care of myself, to maximize all the natural gifts that You gave me when You created me. Help me to listen to the Holy Spirit, the Teacher on the inside of me, keeping in mind that my body is His temple. I will control and discipline my body. I believe that with Your help I can lose weight, or add and tone muscles to maximize the physical beauty of the body that You gave me.

Father, help me to exercise consistently and to take care of this temple of the Holy Spirit. Help me to be patient and to change any lifestyle or eating habits that might be destructive. Your Word is life to me and health to all my flesh. I thank You for the beauty of a godly character. I treat my body with respect because Your Holy Spirit lives in me.

I am so valuable that You gave Your only son for my salvation. I believe that You are still perfecting everything that involves me, including the way I look.

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
